Bring Ya A**
Only in Minnesota. #OnlyinMN
My husband Chris and I are bringing our A**es in your direction, Minnesota. We leave West Kelowna and head for our home state in just two days.
If you’re not from Minnesota and if you don’t follow any Minnesota-based Social Media accounts, you might be wondering what on earth I’m writing about.
I’ll explain:
Game 7 – the final first-round Western Division game. It’s Sunday, May 19th. Defending champion Denver Nuggets vs. the Minnesota Timberwolves in Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado. The Timberwolves come back from the largest Game 7 halftime deficit in NBA history. Final score: 98-90. Anthony Edwards, in his post-game interview with Charles Barkley, Barkley says he hasn’t been to Minnesota in 20 years.
Edwards’s response?
“Bring ya ass.”
Today, it’s Minnesota’s tourism slogan. If you visit Explore Minnesota, the State Department of Tourism’s website, today, you’ll see:
Welcome to a state of possibility. Whether you’re planning a visit or pondering a move, Minnesota is ready to welcome you.
In other words... Bring Ya A**
T-shirts have been made. We want them. Restaurants are inviting Barkley with Bring Ya A** posts on Instagram. Even my buttoned-up hometown, Rochester, Minnesota, is joining in on the fun.
I’m beyond happy to be in a North American time zone where we can get caught up in the excitement. It brings me serious joy.
We are ready to be home.
Tonight, we’re watching the Minnesota Timberwolves take on the Dallas Mavericks from West Kelowna, B.C. We’ll watch the next game in Spokane Valley. We might catch some of Game 3 in Deadwood, South Dakota, but we’ll be back in our home state for Game 4 – cheering our team on with Minnesotans don’t’cha know.
Other Ponderings of the Week… Do we have sticky notes in our storage unit?
Do we have sticky notes in our storage unit? A Swiffer? Did I give away my bookcase, or did I keep it? I can’t remember.
Who cares about sticky notes? I do. Why? Yesterday morning, I had a great idea. Our grandson will be visiting us a week after we move in. I opened the Dorie Greenspan newsletter I subscribe to. Among the many books she recommended in it was Priya’s Kitchen Adventures: A Cookbook for Kids. I have it in my Amazon shopping cart right now because I think it’d be fun to cook at least one meal with my grandson. If we have sticky notes, he can mark the recipes that interest him; then, we can go through them together and decide on one. Doesn’t that sound like a great plan? Of course, it does. Should I just order the sticky notes, and if we already have some, oh well?
Probably.
